Give your young historian the gift of authentic games & activities this summer!

Washington Heritage Museums is pleased to host its annual Twilight History program, designed to provide students with a perfect hands-on experience with history. Held in the evenings, it becomes an opportunity for parents to relax and enjoy downtown Fredericksburg during Fredericksburg's Restaurant Week!

Only three spots left - enroll your child today! Registration closes on July 24, 2025, but don't wait - these final spaces will go fast!

Give your young historian, aged 8-12 years, an unforgettable summer adventure! This four-evening program brings history to life with engaging, hands-on activities across Fredericksburg’s most Iconic sites:

  • Mary Washington House
  • Rising Sun Tavern
  • Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop
  • Mary Washington Monument

While your child explores the past, you can explore the present - enjoy downtown's best dining during Fredericksburg Restaurant Week!

Each camper receives a Twilight History t-shirt! Be sure to select the correct size during registration.

Special Benefits for WHM Members: Hear ye, hear ye...WHM members get $25 off each registrant! Consider enrolling your camper as a Scholar level member ($25), which entitles your camper and one additional household member to the benefits of membership, including discounts and early access to events, for one full year. Join today - current members, call 540-373-5630 or check your email for the discount code.

Want to become a partner in history education? Donations toward our youth programming are greatly appreciated, and sponsorships are also available at the Candlemaker ($100) and Lamplighter ($250) levels.

This year, we are delighted to present this program with the assistance of the Rappahannock Colonial Heritage Society, Dominion Traditional Building Group, and special guest Mark Maloy!

Participants must be between 8 and 12 years of age. Youth aged 15 and older may be interested in volunteering as a Camp Apprentice: Learn more about the Camp Apprentices!

Water will be available at all times for campers. Snacks are not provided. Campers should come fed and ready to have fun while learning!

Refund Policy: 90% refund at 14+ days prior, 50% refund at 7-14 days prior; no refunds after 6 days before the start of camp. Activities are subject to change.
