Enjoy an exclusive tour of our 18th-century garden!
A chance to explore the physick garden with one of our Apothecary's guides! Visitors will learn more about the garden's flowers and herbs, as well as their 18th-century medicinal uses. Thanks to a grant from Virginia Humanities, WHM is able to provide this garden tour free of charge. The garden is beautiful this time of year with butterfly weed, yarrow, betony, feverfew, and more in bloom in this lush green space in the heart of Fredericksburg! Tours of the Apothecary building will also be available for standard admission fees.
The Apothecary hosts over 50 plant species; some of which had "peculiar" uses during the 18th century. Learn about these uses during this small-group tour. Tour size is limited to six per group to allow for the enjoyment of all guests.
